Hi everyone,
The team at Artemis is thrilled to announce that our closed alpha is officially underway. Our user interface named Mercury, that integrates in with our proprietary backend, has been finalized. Over the next few weeks, we'll be bringing what we've been working on consistently for the past year+ to athletic teams, individual athletes, and academics inside of the kinesiology and sports analytics industries.
Not only will we be providing the best of what we have to offer, but we'll also be continually integrating in new ideas internally and from our customers to enable Artemis to have a successful launch in May 2025.
A Walkthrough of Mercury
First, we'll go through the walkthrough of Mercury's home page, as there's a lot of great information to see.

We have our home page split up into multiple different boxes that contain important data to the athlete, coach, or hobby runner looking to use Artemis. In the top right, we have an activity tracker that shows the profile of the user and the days the user added an activity to their profile, denoted by a dot under the number (see December 6 2024).
In the top left, we have our most recent activity display. The most recent display shows two relevant assessment scores the athlete received:
The Symmetry score: how well the athlete matches their left and right legs throughout an activity.
The Overall score: how well our machine learning algorithms believe the athlete performed throughout the activity compared to the general population
In the bottom left, we have quick action buttons. While there will certainly more actions in the future, we've started simple: our "Record Activity" page can be navigated to from our quick actions box.
Finally, in the bottom right, we have various assessments over time available. These include both of the assessment scores listed above, compared to all of your previous assessment scores, but also your "Consistency" score: how consistent your knee angles were over time. For example, if you were peak knee position was the same throughout your entire activity, you'd likely be rated a 90 or 100. If you were varying your stride over time, you would be rated lower.
All three of the assessment scores are available, as well as a description of your performance as of late: if you've increased your rating, decreased your rating, or stayed largely the same.
Upload Your Latest Activity
We have a simple way to upload your latest videos for analysis by clicking our "Record Activity" button on the home page. While there isn't much to write home about on this page, there will be integrations in the future with our physical knee sleeves solution (named later) to allow for athletes to not only take videos, but go onto the field, track, or trail without a videographer and still get access to our valuable insights.

Detailed Activity Analysis
Once your activity has been processed, you can open your analysis page to find all of our insights on your data. As you can see, we have our three assessment scores located on the left and right sides of the page respectively, with our "Areas of Improvement" section in the middle. On the bottom row, we have various graphs, which include the athlete cadence over the activity, and a brief description of good and bad ranges for the athlete to help give insights onto their assessment scores.
For our Areas of Improvement section, we get these insights from our machine learning algorithms and research our scientists and engineers have worked tirelessly on to deliver the most relevant, important information to improve performance and decrease risk of injury. We include a breakdown of:
The muscle and how it affects performance and/or risk of injury
An assessment score rated from 0 to 100 (0 lands you in the hospital and 100 is Usain Bolt level sprinting)
An exercise that will allow the athlete to reduce their possible risk of injury due to this muscle

We're truly thrilled having released our software and are prepared to provide a strong solution for an alpha and be ready to find ways to drastically improve our product. If you're interested in participating in our closed alpha or know an individual who you think would have interest, reach out at patrick.walsh@artemislab.org and we'd love to set up a meeting.
